Ronsonic Trading Corp. was founded on February 1, 1982 in New York City, by the husband and wife team of Ron and Haidi Biala. It began as a small import company specializing in consumer electronics. Within a short time it became apparent that the break up of AT&T, and the de-regulation of the telephone market would create a lucrative market for telephones, as people were no longer required to rent from their phone company.

Ron Biala the President then seized this opportunity, and pioneered the novelty telephone market. The first one to offer one piece telephones that looked like upscale cars, these phones were initially received with much skepticism in the marketplace. Mr. Biala persevered and eventually sold thousands of these telephones. Competitors immediately jumped on this bandwagon, and the marketplace became not only very competitive but also inventive. Consumers were thrilled with these creative telephones and the sales just kept rolling in.

In due time a great variety of novelty telephones were developed and manufactured, and today RTC^Ž is well documented as the leader in novelty telephones. Continuing in its tradition as the innovator, RTC^Ž has expanded into what seems to be the wave of the future in the novelty electronics area. Ronsonic carried a line of 30 novelty alarm clocks in addition to its line of telephones, calculators and even novelty computer mice. These alarm clocks come in all shapes imaginable, light up and use computer sound chips to create sounds that directly relate to and enhance these alarm clocks.
